Birthday celebration

God have been really good to me especially here in Port Moresby . It's definitely stretching my capacity to withstand the loneliness that accompanies any single expat working in a foreign land. God gave me a family in CRC Fellowship . Filipinos fellowship have been my family for almost a year.

It's a challenge really to mix around these passionate filipinos , as the language barrier can be sometimes daunting to figure out . But regardless of that, they've been good to me . Piling me with lots of foods, love and the feeling of a family.

Here are the photos of some of my extended family in Christ that God have given to me.
We are celebrating birthdays of Ate Rhea and Mama Ping.

Celebration the presence of colours and the absence of it

Ever since I took up photography, my appreciation of art have evolved . I no longer just look at the subject of a painting but rather at the choice of colours used, the texture, the brush strokes and the tonality that the artist was trying to express in their painting . It worked for both abstract and non abstract.

Likewise in photography, the presence of colours or the lack of it , allows admirers like me to know of the context of the photos .

Saturated colours are often found in foods, flowers, or landscapes whilst mono saturated photos are towards portraits , abstract subjects such as landscapes and buildings. I like high contrast photos coupled with a strong sharp details especially in portraits.

The absence of colours in a photographs allows us to focus more on the subjects, the expressions and minute details which colours could have distracted us from .

Here are some photos which I took recently to emphasize the presence of colours or the absence of it

Filipino fellowship

This is my local fellowship, a synagoue on my own and culturally the closest you mine that I can relate to. I thank God that he brought me to this family of God that continues to encourage and nurture me even though I'm not a filipino

Iphonegraphy

“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
― Ansel Adams

What defines a photographer is his /her storytelling perspectives. A good photographer can make use of any camera to capture those moments of inspiration whether it is in the candid photos or something very abstract.

Here are some of my photos taken with Iphone 4. I use apps like Hipstamatic and Camera + . All editing was done on the iphone app itself.

There's something bout love ....

There's something about love that I cannot put my finger on .

Love is constantly in the air , from a mother to her child , from a lover to her spouse and when there's that spark , I love shooting photographs of people who are in love.

I love capturing those moment  when they glanced at each other , flirting with one another and often catching views of one another in fleeting moments.
